Hyannis Independence Day Concert & Fireworks

The Cape Cod Symphony Orchestra, the Cape Cod Performing Arts Center and the town of Barnstable are sponsoring a free public concert on the lawn of Aselton Park starting at 5:30.  The festivities concliude at 9:15 p.m. with a colorful and exciting 30-minute fireworks deisplay above Hyannis Harbor.  Admission is free.

Susan Williams (Barn Hill Pottery) and Ron Dean are our pottery instructors. There are 3 classes to choose from; Tuesday, July 8, 9am-12 noon, Wednesday, July 9, 9am-12 noon and Thursday, July 10, 6:30-9:30 pm.  There are two jewelry class offerings , one in silversmithing with Terry Cetto on Thursdays starting July 10, 6:30 pm -9:30 pm for 6 sessions and the other is Cabochon Beading with Coletta Moran starting July 17 on Thursdays 10 am - 12 noon for 3 sessions. The Center is very excited about its offerings this summer. For Plein Air Painters, a local favorite, Rosalie Nadeau will be returning to give an outdoor painting workshop in oil, pastel and acrylic starting Monday, June 30- Thursday July 3. Incredible Invertebrates

Pilgrim Monument and Provincetown Museum

PMPM will offer a free children's program, "Incredible Invertebrates" for children 8 and up, maximum 20 children. The program will last one hour and is conducted by staff from the Cape Cod Cooperative Extension Service. 

Children will be introduced to a variety of live and preserved invertebrates such as: shrimp, hermit crabs or spider crabs, sea stars, sea urchins, snails, jelly fish and sea sponges. As part of the program, each child will make a colorful jellyfish to take home.

Centennial Music Series "My Life in Song"

The Pilgrim Monument and Provincetown Museum Centennial Music series continues Tuesday, July 22 at 7 p.m. with My Life in Song, performed by Jon Arterton with guest James Mack, and accompanied by John Thomas on the grand piano. 

In My Life in Song, singer and conductor JON ARTERTON tells the story of his life through song from New York City to Provincetown, spanning his music education, appearance on Broadway, the creation of The Flirtations, and the newest chapter of his life as a conductor and singer. John Thomas accompanies Arterton on the piano, and Arterton's husband James Mack joins him for several songs.  The concer t features some of Artrton's favorite songs: an eclectic variety of classical and popular music that have marked his musical journey.

Tickets for the concert are $15.00 and will be available in advance at the Pilgrim Monument and Provincetown Museum as well as before the performance.
